Penelope Cruz Sánchez is a Spanish actress. She was born on April 28, 1974 in Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain. Cruz began her career in Spanish films and later gained international recognition for her roles in the films “All About My Mother” (1999) and “Blow” (2001). She has since appeared in a variety of films, including “Vanilla Sky” (2001), “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” (2001), “Chicken Run” (2000), “Open Your Eyes” (1997), “Jamon Jamon” (1992), and “Volvercia” (1990). She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Volver” (2006) and has been nominated for three other Academy Awards. She is also known for her work with the fashion house Loewe, for which she has served as a spokesperson since 2010.
